Kabul evacuees chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' inside aircraft (WATCH)

Indian evacuations from war-torn Afghanistan continue. A batch of 87 Indians landed in New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport from Tajikistan in the wee hours of Sunday. A group of 87 Indians and 2 Nepalese nationals were first evacuated from Kabul using a military aircraft and brought to Tajikistan. From here, special Air India AI 1956 flew them down o New Delhi.  Chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' were raised by those evacuated from Kabul. Another batch of over 150 Indian nationals and 23 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus took off from Kabul at 5:30 am in an Indian Air Force C-17 transport aircraft. They will be landing at the Hindon airbase shortly.  According to reports, this was the same group that was stopped and harassed by a Taliban group on Saturday. The Taliban detained the convoy as they headed to the airport.  The convoy was stopped by militiamen of the Haqqani network, who largely control Kabul's security. To recall, the Haqqani network is also one of the world's most dangerous terrorist outfits. The group was later allowed to leave after Indian officials intervened.
