CBSE Class 10, 12 Term 1 exams in November-December; check exam pattern, revised syllabus

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the first of the two-part board exams for Classes 10 and 12 will begin from mid-November.

The board has released the revised syllabus, issued sample papers for the students of Class 10 and Class 12.

The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes and Term 1 exam papers will be conducted with multiple-choice optical mark recognition (MCQ-OMR) question sheets. CBSE officials have so far ruled out any option of online tests for Term 1 exams.

The Term 1 exam is scheduled to be held between November and December 2021 while the Term 2 exam will be held between March and April 2022.

“The syllabus for the academic session 2021-22 will be divided into two terms by following a systematic approach by looking into the interconnectivity of concepts and topics by the Subject Experts,” an official order by Joseph Emmanuel, Director (Academic), CBSE read.

It added, “The Board will conduct examinations at the end of each term on the basis of the bifurcated syllabus. This has been done to increase the probability of having a board conducted classes X and XII examinations at the end of the academic session.”

Students can download the revised CBSE syllabus 2021-22. The CBSE Class 10, 12 revised syllabus contains the list of chapters that will be asked in the term exams.

Submission process begins of LOC for Class 10th and 12th students:

CBSE has started the process for submission of list of candidates (LOC) for Class 10 and Class 12 board exam candidates. Schools can submit the LoC e-examination for students attempting the 2022 board exam by visiting the portal,

Speaking to Times of India, CBSE Controller of Examination Sanyam Bhardwaj clearly stated that in case there is any disruption of the Term 2 exam, more weightage would be given to the Term 1 exam. He further added that the decision for the same will be taken “only towards the end of Term II exams.”

The board will declare final results after their Term 2 exams, however, students will also get separate marksheets of Term 1 exams.
